Hangman Score ("we", "us", "our") operates the website hangmanscore.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. Account information: When you sign in using Google (via Clerk), we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google's OAuth service. We store your name and a unique user ID for the purpose of displaying your name on the leaderboard and personalising your game history.

Game data: For each completed game, we store the word guessed, its category, whether you won or lost, the number of wrong guesses, the time taken in seconds, the points scored, and the timestamp. This data is associated with your user ID.

Usage data: We may collect anonymised usage information such as page views, session duration, and general geographic region (country level) for the purpose of understanding how the Service is used and improving it. This data is not linked to individual accounts.

Log data: Like most web services, our servers automatically record information including your IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Service. A cookie is a small data file placed on your device. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, some parts of the Service may not function correctly.

Authentication cookies: Clerk, our authentication provider, uses cookies to maintain your signed-in session. These are strictly necessary for the Service to function when you are logged in. They expire when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your game data for any purpose other than operating the Service.

Clerk: We use Clerk (clerk.com) as our authentication provider. Clerk processes your Google OAuth token and provides us with your basic profile information. Clerk's privacy policy applies to data processed through their service.

Hosting & infrastructure: The Service is hosted on Replit. Server logs and database data are processed on Replit's infrastructure, subject to Replit's security and privacy practices.

Leaderboard: Your display name and total points are publicly visible on the leaderboard. Your email address is never displayed publicly.

Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated game data. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
• Portability: Request an export of your game history data in a portable format.
• Objection: Object to processing of your data for analytics or advertising purposes.
